The S12 was the first real global Silvia, reaching markets and audiences far greater than any of its predecessors. Outside of Japan it reached Australia, the United States, Canada, and sprawled into the United Kingdom & Europe, landing in Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.

Still to this day, long after the final S15 Silvia rolled off the production line, the S12 remains the most diverse Silvia of them all. No other Silvia was available with as many engine options or model configurations as the S12.
