The October Special Edition of Motor Fan Magazine, published in Japan on the 20th of October 1983, is perhaps one of the most important pieces of Nissan S12 media to be printed, and serves as a valuable resource for the S12 community.

The Motor Fan journalists document the day of the S12 model release at Nissan headquarters, where they and other motoring journalists saw the new model S12 for the first time and witnessed the model announcement from Nissan executives.

The journalists were also amongst the first in the world to get their hands on the cars and test them, giving their initial driving and performance impressions of the car and also a look at how the car stacked up against its competition at the time. They also interviewed the cars designers, getting an insight into their minds and learning about the form and function of the S12.

Motor Fan also imagined a dress-up guide and look into how the car could be styled and tuned, as well as a full mechanical breakdown of the new S12 Silvia & Gazelle chassis.
