Indeed interested in how the motor fairs after you do the work to it.

Well over 10 years,

Catch up on this build:
VG30/33 Hybrid that ended up blowing up twice at the track, last time I drove it was in July of 2019 when sadly my mom suddenly passed away 2 days after the 3rd vg30 motor exploded at the track.

Attempted to go with a VG30DE from a J30 but lost interest knowing even tho the motor with the vg30e motor mounts it bolted up, just the work it requires and felt chunky to go this route with this car.

I transplanted the CA18det, attempted to get the Nistune setup to work in which I did but was unable to tune it as it was a built motor destined for greatness (the TL;DR version), I've learned in the process that there is different variants of the Nistune from v1 to v3, what I was attempting to do was push it with over 1000cc injectors and audi coils conversion and caused the ecu to get overloaded and fail on the process, where according to the nistune support the ecu processing power isn't capable of handling what I am trying to push it for. i would need to upgrade to a v3 board that would only be found on later s14 / s15 ecu according to their support.

So here in 2026, working hard to get it back on the road I finally got MS3x to work.
Current List of mods for the CA18DET
Audi Coils
1000cc DW injectors Lowz
24-1 Trigger wheel replacing the CAS (still looking for the EDIS setup for future adding in both wheels for trigger at CAM and Crank)
IAT and MAP replacing the z32 maf all together.
Water to Air Innercooler

Original:
If I recall, and now this forum is restored maybe I can dig in more to confirming what I could find.
CP Rods
Tomei 256
Top mount t3/t4

One thing I found that plagues these motors is the oil and pressure build up.

Here was the latest video log after I've asked for some help from a local tuner.
