Matty's (Castle) epic walkabout

Post by Draconis »

So, Matty leaves tomorrow with a handful of others. Cannot believe that after all this time that it has finally come down to this. Wish the best of luck and looking forward to updates while he is away. Keeping this thread pinned while he's abroad so he can easily find it and post up when he gets the chance.

Traveling from London to Singapore by way of bicycles is indeed epic and a journey they won't forget. Many experiences they will encounter that may change them forever and in ways none of us can imagine I'm sure. I can tell you, that even though I dont think I could go through with such an adventure, I am jealous and if I had the opportunity, I would have joined them for sure.

Here's too you Matty, Sarah, and the crew. Good speed and enjoy! :thumbsup_anim:

Just SO glad right now that we are not flying with Qantas, or that would have fucke everything up.

Will keep in touch here when i can, and post some updates along the way. Am always going to have to visit my #1 site whenever I can!

Hope you do because I never did get that document with the bits in case issue should arise. Hope Dean can pitch in and help if something happens. But the way things seem, things should be all set.

This is a truly mental idea.

Are you planning on logging the journey anywhere online? Would be pretty awesome to follow.

Good luck!

Update on Matty's journey. He is in France and things are looking decently well. Already one puncture in his tyre but not too much to worry about. Check out the site they have made and even comes with a map of their planned route and the extent of their travels so far.

Cheers for the post Colin. Have been checking S12Silvia.com whenever I get Internet, which is only about once a week at the moment. Good to keep up to date with the comunity.

Arrived in Amiens yesterday, had a rest day here today, and are packing up to cycle off towards Paris tomorrow. Should be there in about 3 or 4 days if all goes to plan.

Havn't spotted any 12's yet, would like to see one, have forgotten what they look like. I miss my car so much!

And yeh, the tire blow out wasnt the most fun thing to happen so far.

Cheers guys, ciao!

Unfortunately not mate. Am heading to the south of France as quick as possible to get to the warmer weather. Looking forward to hitting the Med coast. From there we will then be cycling east into Italy. I will get back to the Netherlands though one day, I love that country!
