Hello all. I have been a member of Club-S12 for a while now and figured it was past time go join up here too. I was forced to sell my 85 S12 notch some years ago by my now X-wife. I am passivly searching for another and gathering as much information as possible as I go. While I don't have any experience installing them on Nissans I am in the buisness of designing and installing custom supercharger kits. I have a heavy CAD background as well. I do intend to supercharge my next S12 and am happy to help others before or after I get it accomplished for myself be it conceptual, aquiring parts or providing drawings. Anyway, glad to officially be here finally.

Hey man, having that much background will help your project turn out well instead of just seeing what works and what doesn't. What engine you planning to supercharge in your future S12?

Right now I am pretty much set on a KA (preferably DE) due to availability of parts. The next S12 needs to be able to take on daily driver duties alternating with other projects. Odds are I will likely end up trying to get one on the CA as well while I search for my KA simply because that is the type of nerd I am. As I have been reading though I am becomming more and more intrigued by the idea of converting an SR from a turbine to belt powered compressor just for the uniqueness of it. Probably just a pipe dream. Whichever route I go there will certainly be CAD drawings so anybody with an intrest in duplicating it should have an easier time. You work at Forced Aeromotive? And didnt see much else you have done. Think you forgot a link or to cut and paste.

I failed to see where I could edit my original post. I used the insert link tool but I must have left something out. My link should take you to our company website at Forced Aeromotive Technologies, not to be mistaken for Aeromotive Inc. who makes racing application fuel systems.. My father and I do all of the development work (calling in related experts when needed). The first project was started a little over 15 years ago. Now we have the only certified belt driven superchargers in aviation today. There are a number of systems out there for experimental only applications, but our patented systems are the only ones for certified aircraft.

Yup, your linked worked and about your product in the aviation field, that is some good stuff! With this background, you'll know what's up for sure. Too bad you're not closer as I would love to drop by and check things out and possibly assist in your project. Very much looking forward to what you have in store for this.

Thanks Colin. We have done some layout and fitment for various cars before including fox body mustangs, various impreza and legacy model subies and most recently an early 90s pathfinder but for various reasons never branched into the automotive world. There is already plenty of of competition there and for our limited resources and aircraft usually keep us plenty busy. If you (or anybody really) are ever in the Denver area I would be happy to show you around and explain how what we do differs from anything on the market today. It looks pretty mundane but it is unique enough that we have been able to get one patent with another in the works. I am happy to discuss here but I have not found many people interested enough to keep a dialog going even in pilot forums.

Maybe consider supercharging an SR20DE rather than DET as you wont have to first remove all the turbo stuff. Mines a DE+T and deals with the boost fine. I think as long as the tune is ok they are good up to about 280hp.

It really just depends on what is available when I am ready to park the S12 and have other projects at rest. If a deal on an SR happens to be there I certainly won't turn my nose up at it. KA's can be found all day. Either will be a worthwhile replacement to a the CA it comes with.
