hey guys n gals the names john or as my boys call me johnius maximus.
sydney is where i call home. im nearing my 30th birthday now and yet ive been modifying cars since i was 16. ive mainly dealt with fwd rides but of late ive started playing with rwds and 4x4s.
i recently purchased a 85 s12 hatch to continue my project street circuit sleeper. i bought it to replace my r31 pintara/skyline after it snapped out and banged up the rear end.
the running gear i have is a piece of art. see its a highly modded ca18det motor. its got a balanced crank, forged rods, forged pistons, metal head gasket, tomei cam gears, tomei cams, heavy duty valves n springs,
ported polished heads, rwd ca18det manifold which has been internally milled to accept more air and also to bolt up the 80mm xf throttle body. then i had a custom exhaust manifold made up to hold a brand new garrett 3840
turbo which had its ball bearings yanked out and nitrated to handle the heat better and boost better. hanging off the turbo is a 51mm tial external wastegate with a 6 inch by 1.5 inch screamer pipe. theres also 800cc injectors, individual microtech branded coil packs and of course a microtech lt10 and x4 ijnitor box controlling the brains, then theres the oil relocation kit keeping the oil cool.
so yeah alot of work and not a bad way to lose 10k on a engine setup. but one things for sure its bulletproof. and im in the process of sorting out a new box and lsd diff to complete the new setup.
and now the project begins.....
the body was stripped to a shell, still thinking whether to use a factory kit or keep it clean, interior ripped out ready for bucket seats in the front, the custom wiring harness being fitted, a battery relocation to the boot, no rear seat, stripped carpet.
things on the to do list...
custom dash accesories, returning a lightened carpet n door trims, a decent stereo upgrade, a big brake upgrade, modded suspension and hopefully some nice wheels. maybe even a half roll cage.
well thats all for now my new buddies. hopefully ill see yas round soon...
in the mean time ill still keep cruising round in my daily modded 4x4 pajero roaming maybe on a street near you .... lol

Wow, that sounds like a pretty serious bit of kit! Throw some pictures up if you get a chance, I'd love to see this thing.
There are a couple other Sydney guys lurking on here so hopefully we can get a chance to meet soon.
Enjoy your stay and good luck getting the thing track ready. I'm taking mine out to Eastern Creek next week with Circuit Club, so who knows, maybe we'll see each other on the track soon

No worries. I'm not actually sure if you can upload images to the site itself. I use this online image sharer http://imgur.com/ It's super easy to use and free. Create a free account if you want to keep track of all your pics otherwise it will delete any pics which aren't viewed for three months or something. Then hit the "Insert image" button in the post tool bar and paste in the "direct link" url you get from Imgur.
There's other sites out there that do the same thing, most of them free, but this is the one I use
