It survived!! I had a major problem with a blocked radiator after the first session but other than that it has a crapload of grip compared to the live axle. I did a 63 second lap which is the same as I've been getting in the Big Block lately so that encouraging.
Pics to come soon. Unfortunately I didn't get time to throw a camera in the car as I was still doing the seat, harness & wiring Saturday night.

How is the Big Block? has the SR bettered its torque curve and times?
Always love reading about your efforts on the hybrid.
Although the ca20 block is tall and skinny, ive never heard of one cracking
or leaking even with terrible abuse and pinging suck through turbo setups.
I also saw a speedway methanol one in the past that revved sky high with
custom rods and pistons and fully balanced.

It's been a while since I updated things here.
Both Gazelles are still up on blocks but the Green Machine will be heading to the operating theatre in the next few months for a bit of work on the SR20, a full cage & customising of the dash with a TV screen showing vitals & lap times. Very high tech.
The Big Block will go in later in the year to get all of it's issues sorted (yet another blown head gasket, won't idle, etc). I'm still going to build the forged CA20DET but I need to get all of the other cars sorted first.
Now they have 2 new friends. A 1993 Nissan Pathfinder (the boxy one) which has just been in an accident & will require a new nose. It has a replacement VG30E from a Navara & goes like stink. New Exedy HD clutch & twin 2.5" stainless exhaust. The perfect towing vehicle. It loves a good drink though - 18L/100km.
...and a Soarer with a 2JZ-GE. Luxo barge goodness compete with slush box & bump eliminating suspension. So smooth & quiet. This is the new daily drive to replace the Pathy for while it's in at the panel replacers, though I am liking it very much so I may keep it.

Oooooo a Soarer with that much power. I am jealous and want one. And wise choice for it as a daily. Just make sure you dont get too lazy behind it after a while. lol

It's not the 2JZ-GTE so it's not that fast. Instead it's very smooth, but once it gets up in the rev range it's fun enough.

You guys got a cool front bar emblem we never got. If we got anything it was the circular Toyota emblem. Is it a griffin or another mythical creature?
