I've been to Lakeside again & slashed over a second off my PB - 1:03.25. This came thanks to some new Bridgestone RE55S (225/50/16) rear tyres & a few degrees timing.

There's plenty more to come as I'm only starting to explore the limits of the 4 pot calipers & when the engine gets it's final tune I'm hoping to crack 200rwkw & 25psi (fingers crossed). The Silverstone front tyres have now lasted over 1.5 years of competition which is about 15 events, I'm very happy with them but they're just not wide enough (210/50/16). More RE55S for the front & I'm looking into rear coilovers then the car is pretty much complete.

mm, 225 aint that wide. but impressive how much those tires have taken!

It shows how loose the car was on slightly over pressured new tyres. Track temp was 15degC.

I had the car on the wheel aligner again to hopefully make it easier to steer in Lakeside's tighter corners (Karosel & Eastern Loop). It's certainly easier to drive on the road at lower speeds now.

Settings are as follows:
Castor: Left 6'10" - Right 6'12"
Camber: Left 3'40" - Right 3'41"
Toe: Left 0.3mm - Right 0.3mm
KPI: Left 16'16 - Right 17'14"

Lets see how this translates to the track.

Roger, ive currently got 5.3' castor (2' camber, 0.8mm toe) , but my tyre ever so slightly touches the forward inner wheel well. Do you have any clearance issues like that? Im running 205/45/17s, no stretch

I did have to massage the bottom/front on the front guards to stop the tyres hitting. I'm also going to have to extend the little stay under there to move the guard away from the tyres once the 225/50/16 RE55S go on the front. I'm currently running 210/50/16 Silverstone rally tarmac front tyres which have very staight sidewalls.

I went to Lakeside again today & set another new PB - 1:01.75 which I am very happy with. That's 1.5 seconds faster with only camber & toe adjustments. The front tyres are now completely farked & they were locking up several times a session so there's more time to come from new RE55S. The engine is well & truely worn in now & is ready for more boost & revs. I upped the revs to 7000 allowing me to change into 5th at around 200kph.

Other cars on the day did the following times:
Porsche 997 Carrera Cup GT3 (on Michelin slicks) - 56.56 secs
Lancer EVO 6 Tommy Makinen Edition - 1:01.06
My Big Block CA (RE55S) - 1:01.75
Toyota Starlet (turboed & worked - Toyo 888) - 1:02.76

Slicks would mean it's no longer in the Road class, then I'd be battling the 997 GT3 & I ain't gonna catch him no matter what I do to a Gazelle. RE55S are good enough for a minute lap. I just have to get a bit more power & a lot more balls.
