What was the advantage of running a FJ box? better ratios? would this be a better box to run on a ca18det instead of a 'b' box?

The FJ is still a B box.
I'm not 100% sure on ratios, but the gears are wider, therefore a bit stronger.

I don't want to change to the CA18/SR/RB boxes and I picked up Ben Diggles old FJ box. 1st, 2nd and 3rd are closer 4th & 5th seem the same. 2nd is the major difference though, and the closer 3rd helps my out of the tighter corners nicely. With the recoed diff I'm able to hold a lovely slide out of corner 6 as you can see in these vids:
Session 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxSgfZceuMY
Session 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAJuRWvwswc
I forgot to turn the camera on for my fastest run in Sesson 2, again...DOH!!! In S1 I have the R33 & 300ZX chasing. In S3 I was chasing a worked Comaro. The 300 driver came up after and asked what I had under the bonnet. Didn't he get a surprise.

Cheers Cam. I'm as surprised as anyone. It may end up a ticking timebomb, but while it's going strong I'll keep pushing it gently.
Another competitor also had an in car camera and he was on my ass the whole way through Session 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgIchaeK3gY
Watching my car from inches away is a new experience for me. Very different lines, mostly due to me snailing through the corners and him having sticky rubber.

It's a good vid! You get to study your lines, braking/accel, braking points, and how hard your engine pulls the car away on the straights! =)Candellan wrote:Cheers Cam. I'm as surprised as anyone. It may end up a ticking timebomb, but while it's going strong I'll keep pushing it gently.

The only corner you seem to be "snailing" through is that S - compromising the first corner to line up for the second/get a good exit ooks to be a bit of a bitch to get right.
"rest of the video cannot be shown for legal reasons" at the end of the video - did that RX7 and the Datto try to make a love child?
