Australian Touring Car Championship

In 1987 The Australian Touring Car Championship held a seperate 4-round series for cars under 2.0L capacity. The June 7th round at Sandown Raceway the under 2.0L cars ran combined with the ATCC championship for overall ATCC points. The Gibson Motorsport prepared FJ20E powered Nissan Gazelle, piloted by Australian motorsport legend Mark Skaife, competed against other sub 2.0L cars like the AE86 Toyota Sprinter & Levin, Isuzu Gemini, Toyota Celica, Ford Laser TX3 and Suzuki Swift.
The 1987 Australian 2.0 Litre Touring Car Championship was a CAMS sanctioned Australian motor racing title open to Group A Touring Cars of under 2.0 litre engine capacity. The title was contested over a four-round series and was won by Mark Skaife driving a Nissan Gazelle.Wikipedia

Mark Skaife drove the Peter Jackson sponsored Gibson Motorsport Nissan Gazelle to 3rd place in the first round of the 2.0L ATCC series, before a putting together a dominating performance for the remainder of the season. Round 2 saw him take victory at Sandown, which was held concurrently with Round 7 of the 1987 Australian Touring Car Championship, in which Mark finished 12th overall. Skaife took 2 more wins in Lakeside and Amaroo to secure the championship victory of the 1987 ATCC 2.0L series.
