I've had the car to 7500 rpm with the ChipTorqued standard ECU so it will go there, but the tuner was concerned that the boost was starting to creep above 6000 so limited it there. If I'm brave I'll take it back for a 7000 rpm power run to see how high it'll go but as the end of the graph is near vertical I'm guessing 200rwkw on that dyno is possible. It was also pissing down with rain that day so that's worth a few kw.
If I can get a hold of the correct cam gears I'll fatten up that torque curve too. I want more oomph on 3rd & 4th gear for turns 1 and 2 at QR. 2nd is gone in no time and the speedo hits 110kph+ changing into 3rd.

lol yeah, that CA20 gearbox has such a bullshit high 3rd and 4th.
Like, the D1 drivers couldnt even do third around the slow track.
Though it is the slow track and we were going mighty fast in 2nd.

The big block CA makes it's first YouTube showing - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ODbzUVn94Cg
That was a Toyota dyno day last Saturday and the headgasket was blown so I found out this week. Should be back up around the 190rwkw mark tomorrow.

bit smokey there mate
i didnt realise that a head gasket can cause such a power loss... it does make sense though.

Compression
When an engine gets tired it might still make ok power etc on boost but off boost performance is poos and very un-torquey lol
Did u end up fixing her?
What caused it to go in the first place?

The smoke is probably coolant vapour. It's not using any oil but the coolant level has been going down slightly for a week or so requireing a top up every few days. Think of it as unregulated water injection.
It's being fixed with a new metal head gasket. I had a stock CA20 head gasket in there previously as I never expected to be running over 8-10psi. Now it's running 12-14 happily and was obviously too much for the stock item. It blew some cool smoke rings driving off the dyno, just like a pro smoker. A pity they weren't caught on tape.
They found the turbo to manifold gasket was also leaking so there was a few more horses gone.

Yea with gaskets like that ull notice a huge increase in responsivness. Not so much the KW tho, i think there was about 3-5kw diffrence when mine wasnt leaking to leaking

Actually it was the other way around with me, I only noticed a slight lack of power.
