SR radiators are bigger (I'm not sure about S13 CA ones). I have an alloy SR ebay special in the Green Machine. The ebay radiators are cheaper than a recore, but quality can be hit & miss.

1 thing to note about the S12 radiator is it's not a cross flow like the SR one. Both inlet & outlet are on the right side.

I think so, most skyline ones are a bit fatter too, but people want $100-200 for them. Figured we may as well get a brand new ASI for $160.

True - same as RB so VL etc should work.

That's interesting about the cross flow, i hadn't noticed. Does it make a lot of difference?

Don't know about performance, but all newer stuff seems to do that. Annoying when looking for rads though!

As I said the recored non crossflow rad in the CA20DET keeps the car at 90degC in summer traffic with a pair of 10" thermos. The most I saw was 99degC recorded on track in the middle of a ~40degC day. That's very cool given the conditions. The Trust intercooler doesn't block all of the radiator though which makes a big difference.

I've had a look around for reco prices... what I've found is double the price of a new ASI rad!

ASI is Chinese ebay special just like all the rest. I remember my copper recore was about $300 10 years ago. I guess $150 is a fair price. My cheap ass ebay special turned out ok. It's luck of the draw.
