This time I had a major leak just before the intercooler where a clamp failed. I had been using grub screw clamps but not I've just picked up some quality T clamps to cure the problem.

No good Roger!! Vid was sweet as usual, how do u plan to replace the FJ box, or will you repair since the rest of it should be ok?

I'll see when I get it out but I'm trying to chase up a spare regardless. I do have an SR20 box & pinny box so I can mix & match them to get it in, but then I then need an S13 front tailshaft, balance that, mod the gearbox mount, cut the tunnel & it'll have different ratios.

Not worrying about that right now cause I'm off to the WRC tomorrow....YEAH!!!!! GO Leob/Elena!!

Update: The box problem turned out to be 5th gear. I've stripped 10+ teeth right off the gear so i'm guessing a crack formed & she went bang. New FJ20 box went in with a bit of effort (did it on my own).

Videos of last Sunday below. We had a dust storm the previous night & the track was very slippery so that combined with heavy rear springs meant I was sliding all over the place.

still seems to stick to the track really well

what sort of speed are you carrying onto the main straight? and what do you hit before you've gotta back off for the first bend?

The spedo broke a while ago but based on the dyno kph when I'm changing into 5th after 6000rpm I'm hitting 210. So by the time I'm going thorough the kink it'll be ~220kph & I'm still on 80-100% throttle there until the braking for Karosel.

I've just put the HZ springs in with the S13 rear coil shocks & they fit perfectly. I could do with a slightly higher spring rate so I might buy a set of Kings raised rear coils.

Coilovers, in the rear, with HZ (more details?) springs? how so!

Sorry I thought they were HZ, but it seems they were compressed Gazelle springs - http://www.aus12.org/index.php?showtopic=1027&hl=spring

Morgy had them in the back of his Stoogemobile that I wrecked with stupidly low shocks. I have seperated S13 coilovers (ie the coilover without the spring) & welded a 3" tube to the top shock mount to drop the ride height. I'll try to get some pics as it looks really good (welding was done by GT Auto Garage). We're going to add some tubing to stiffen the rear end & one day I'll get a Bond cage in there.

Yeah all makes sense now, nice work. I'd be running some better springs though?? And i believe morgish's old shocks where EL falcon spec.

Interested in seeing your extended shock tower, but i know what its going to look like
