Toyota Car Club of Australia (VIC) is pleased to announce that Classic Japan will once again be held in 2013, this year on Sunday December 1st. This year will be bigger and better with a return to Como Park in South Yarra. As well as having no numbers restrictions for entries, this venue will allow us to host the event with the Classic Japanese Motorcycle Club in making Classic Japan 2013 a show for cars and bikes made in Japan pre 1988.

The event is a huge celebration of Japanese car and bike culture. No trophies, no egos, just a bunch of enthusiasts coming out for a picnic on the grass with their classic J-tin bike or car. Vehicle entry will be via Alexandra Ave, South Yarra and once again we will be taking folding note donations at the gate to raise funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation. Gates open at 8am and close at 9am for entries. Spectator parking will be in the streets around the venue.

To download a copy of the event flyer, please click here.
For more information please contact TCCAV via email toyota.car.club.australia@gmail.com.

Thanks for posting this Luke.

From the photo's and write-ups I see and read about this from past years it looks like a great event to go to.

I've already chatted with Luke (lukemonty) about this already, and I've decided I'm going to drive the Full White over for the event and enter alongside Lukes RS-X. Will be great to finally meet up with some of the Vic S12 crew.

Anybody from SA keen on going, we can road trip it.

Everybody in Melbourne, S12 meet-up on the Saturday night?

Very much looking forward to this event.

Matt.

G'day Steve

Yeah a catch up with some S12's and a drink or two on the Saturday night could be the way to go.

Meeting up before the event and rolling in together could also be a good idea.

We'll have to plan to get in there at least an hour early.  Last year when I went I was 45 minutes early and the placed was pretty full already.

No problem at all, keen to have you all along!

I can highly recommend this, because of (sad I couldn't edit the OP):

***PLEASE NOTE***

If you intend to enter your car into the display area, we ask that you stay for the full duration of the show. If you are unable to stay the four-hours, we ask that you park outside the show area. We also run a 'park as they arrive' format & will not be separating cars by manufacturer etc.

If you would like to park together as a group, we recommend a pre-meet somewhere so that you can arrive as a group & park together. This is a static car show, meaning that once parked vehicles will not be permitted to move around the show area. There will be many pedestrians in the area & by minimizing vehicular traffic, we can keep things safer for everybody.

If keen to do a twisties cruise, I'm sure we could have a meet / BBQ at mine either on the way there or on the way back.

Luke and I are not far from one another, but both about 40min - 1hour from the venue due east. Which I'm aware isn't very convenient for those already coming from the West (SA).

That sounds like a plan mate.

If I'm coming all the way from Adelaide, another hour out of the way isn't going to hurt. The more driving the better!

The Full White is going through some big changes right now, looking forward to showing it off for this event.

38 Days to go, just sayin'...

...that I have no chance of Blue Thing having a new heart in time. *sigh*

However, I do hope that all of you have made much better progress than I have. If not, better step on it because. THIS. WILL. BE. AWESOME.

Glad to see you're all so keen! :)

My car may not be sporting the new modifications I've been working on, just haven't had time to get it all together.

However I'm going to drive it over no matter what, will get it to a drivable state so that I can be there.

Still looking forward to it!

Took the words right out of my mouth re: modifications! I'll have a new engine together, installed & running is a different story!

Stoked to hear that you're making the trip over!

Down to 9 more sleeps before the big day! I'll be honest, I'm nervous.

If you can't wait for the day itself to score yourself a Classic Japan t-shirt or lanyard, or are unable to make it on the day but would still like one, we can help you with that! T-shirts & lanyards are For Sale via Ebay, with all funds raised being donated to The Fred Hollows Foundation (http://www.hollows.org.au/) . For those of you who plan on attending Classic Japan this Sunday at Como Park, please take note! If you were planning to take either of the Citylink Tunnels as part of your route, you may wish to rethink that. Both tunnels will be closed for Maintenance/Re-Surfacing works from 9pm on Saturday the 30th of November until 9am on Sunday the 1st of December. They might finish early, I wouldn't plan on it so best to find another way, see you there!

For more information, please check the Citylink website here: http://www.citylink.com.au/News.asp
