hah love the granny lace really adds to the car in the restored old school type way

really not sure which way to vote on the body mods either on one hand a mk2 kit will make it look that much sweeter but restoring it to factory spec full white would be tops too :S

EDIT: Wait pop-up headlights with wipers  this i wanna see

Seriously. I've only seen it once before. I am waiting on my set to get to me if it ever gets sent out. :P Then I'll have the headlamp guards and the wipers!

Just need to get the headrest bits made up by a grandma somewhere, it's the only piece missing from the seat cover kit.

Yes, pop up headlights with wipers. They are listed in the MKI JDM Silvia brochure somewhere, but here are a picture of the ones I have and hope to get fitted to the car eventually...

The units are quite different from normal ones, they have a motor fitted to the base with a rod to move the wiper arm. There are also water lines connected to the wiper arm for some squirting cleaning action. I have the button for them somewhere which has the little icon of the wipers on it. These need a little work but hopefully will work all good and I can get them fitted into the RS-X.

And while I was digging around the shed, another part that will make it in eventually, factory option passenger footrest...

Posted Image

Already have the little drivers footrest as pictured inset.

Trying to make the car as optioned as possible! Posted Image

So when i part out my car, do you want the power sunroof and lining etc? :P

It would add to the feel!

I've seen the drivers footrest before, i have one, but only ever seen one passenger side one, once before.

The wipers on the headlights look cool, but i dont know how functional they would be.

Don't think I'm keen to start cutting things, but thanks for the offer!

I also drove it a long time ago when Jack first acquired the car. Although it had a fucked clutch and bent control arms then, so yes it is much better to drive now! The car has to go to Regency AND to the ID station at Lonsdale, so I am told. Lots of messing around, remind me not to go through this process again, it's expensive and time consuming!

Thisafternoon I got the RS-X back from compliance engineering.

Side intrusion bars fitted, rear seat belts and child restraints fitted to meet Australian Design Rules, an engineers report, and a much lighter wallet! Engineers report and stickers that I have to fit to the car, which are English translations of the tyre placard, engine and emissions data, and fuel type.

Posted Image

The engineer, who see's his fair share of Japanese imports roll through his workshop, was quite impressed at how clean the underside of the car and the engine is. He also agree's that the KM's on the car are genuine, so that's positive.

Oh, and the car ticked over 80,000km's on the way home from the engineer. I love driving this car, cannot wait until it's registered! Next stop..... roadworthy inspection.

You are indeed correct about the 'crazy 80's' comment. When people see my headlamp guards, they usually say: "*pause* That is totally old school". I then tell them that the S12 also came with headlamp wipers. At that point they say: "Wow.", usually with a slight confused or amused face.

Yeah, I want a set of those headlight guards! Where would I acquire a set?

On topic though, awesome progress with the car! And 80,000kms!!? Jealous!

Sent you a PM James. And seriously, that is low mileage/kilometers. Jealous indeed.

Australia now has a REGISTERED Nissan Silvia Full White RS-X!

Perhaps the first one?

Passed roadworthy inspection no worries. A couple of minor things to get done, mainly a couple of spots of surface rust, easy enough to fix. From inspection to ID check, stacks of paperwork to be done here. From inspection to registration, where I once again had to hand over excessive amounts of money to the government. I ordered custom plates, and walked out with a registration sticker!

So after 9 months of owning this car I have gotten to this point. I never want to go through this process again.
