Seems brad and I had crossed wires. The wheels I bought off him are 15s and are the same as the ones pictured above

That exact thought about the wheels popped into my head a couple of days ago. I think that's what I will end up doing with them.

The Broadway is pretty awesome. I was on the lookout for a replacement stock mirror but after seeing a car at a show with a Broadway mirror I decided to get one of these instead. Glad I did.

The wide-view mirror is a timeless piece, but definately popular with the 80's crowd.

Pretty Luke's RS-X had one on it when Denzo had it. Does it still have one?

Interior wise, it would be the only thing missing since then. Not bad for 14 years and 5 owners

A few weeks ago I found myself an OEM MKII Silvia wing and had it imported from Japan. I thought it was going to be plastic or fibreglass, but on arrival found that it was rubber, similar to my IMPUL spoiler. The wing had a little damage and needed a new coat of paint. Luckily a friend is a painter, he took the wing and colour coded some special flexible kind of paint that can be applied to rubber.

The wing came back today, I rested it on the boot of the Silvia, perfect colour match! Just need to get myself some 3M tape and fit it down. The wing has holes on the underside to attach screws, but I'm not keen on drilling the Silvias boot. I was recommended the 3M tape by my painter friend, will hold it down nicely.

When it arrived...

I think there's different levels of adhesion with that tape.

Something worth researching into.

Yeah there are a few different ones. There is one that's specific for car exteriors, super strong hold and waterproof etc. Looking into getting that one.

The bottom of the wing has channels to allow water to get out from under it.

Parcel shelf is non existent. It's on the list of things to do.

I fitted the MKII wing to the car today.

And a couple of days ago Silvia had a major service.

New timing belt kit to the motor, sounds and runs a lot better now.
All other belts replaced with new ones also.
New fluids.

Silvia is now ready for her ~1,400km road trip back down to Adelaide. Will be leaving bright and early this Wednesday, hopefully it all goes well!

I made it, the Full White is now back with me is SA. Drove it 1,329km's in 14 hours and 55 minutes (average speed of 89.094km/h). The car didn't skip a beat!

I clearly didn't build this car with interstate travel in mind, not too keen on doing it again, quite uncomfortable with the stiff coilovers and the R888's on it. Plus not having air-con, or a stereo added to things. Oh well, it's done, now that the car is here in SA I can continue the restoration and modifications!

That's not going to be fun to clean off tomorrow!

This has got to be one of my favourite purchases for the Silvia so far.

A couple of months back I found these NISMO fog lights on Yahoo Japan. The price was quite high, I watched them go for weeks without selling. The price was slowly lowered after it kept ending with no sale, but still they didn't sell. I decided to throw a couple of offers to the seller, with my first offer being declined I increased it slightly and eventually won them. I had the lights imported and they landed at my door a few weeks later.

NISMO_Fogs_Logo.jpg

The fog lights are new old stock, despite the box being a little roughed up, everything inside is brand new and unused. The mounts have never been used, the wiring loom is untouched, and the lights themselves are in perfect condition! They must have been sitting in a dark corner of a warehouse somewhere until only being discovered recently.

NISMO_Fogs_Box.jpg

I absolutely love the description on the front of the box describing how the lights work. Classic 80's Japanese.

NISMO_Fogs_Contents.jpg

The other day I got the lights out the box and decided to test wire them into the Silvia. I was curious to see how they work and how the Auto-Louver mechanism went. The only real way to show how they work was to take a small video, so I got a little creative and put this together.

Here is the video from the test wiring...

Next job is to get my old JDM factory option Gazelle lights off the car and get the NISMO ones mounted and wired.

Also...

The Silvia is coming off the road for an unknown amount of time. I have recently purchased myself a nice new car and now have the chance to get a lot of things sorted on the Silvia that I haven't been able to do as I was using it as a daily.

Cheers Darryn.

The car is slowly progressing, hopefully a little cooler each time haha.
I have persistance with certain items, and when I saw these NISMO fog lights I just had to have them. They add to the growing list of NISMO goodies on the car as well.
