One of my mates fu**ed around with myheadligjt switch and the raise light buttons by moving it all really fast.
Now the headlighs and highbeams stay ok and will not turn off.
The only way to is to disconnect the battery.
The dash doesn't light up either.

What the crap?

Somethin's fried, someone on here's sure to be able to point out the common solutions

A common fault for the old Nissan is the contacts on the stalk.
But what is happening to yours sounds like a short in the system somewhere. I would be getting the test light out and checking what is going on.

Have you checked all fuseable links?
Checked contacts in the stalk/switch?

I havent done anything except disconnect the headlights.
Also everytime I park the car I disconnect the battery.
I try not to drive at night, as the highbeams are permanently on.

Im getting an auto electrician to look at it tomorrow as he was away today from trade school.
Depending on what it is I might have to get a new stalk from U Pullit. And maybe pay an auto electrician to do what they can.
I kinda dont trust the 1st year apprentice to work on it.

Remove the stalk
turn the car on
see if they're still on

would this then determine if the stalk's at fault?

if the stalks were permanatly contacting (hence permanantly up and on) then yes that would eliminate the stalk apart from that your gonna have to try and find the short not fun lol and then fix it , id make ya mate pay up lol

Well an update is needed.
The auto electrician at trade school removed the stalk and one of the wires was fried.
So the eyes are down and the headlights do not work at all.
Because he cut the circuit that controls the headlights.
So I do not drive at night and I was supposed to hang with my mates (who lost their licenses, horray for my full license!)
Also my indicators dont work and heaps good for the auto electrician to tell me so.

So I need to get a new stalk which is not fried.
Then all is sweet.

So out of all that was wrong, the eyes ow go up and down. Thats it!

My left head light seems to allways be on hi beam, I took it to the auto elec & he fixed it until, I went to flash my hi beams & it stuffed it again & now it dose this when I flash my hi's.

Brad, that is possibly the most awesome headlights dance ever!
I almost wish mine did that! People spend hours rigging their lights to do that!!

Must be annoying as fork though!

Went to U Pull It today and scored myself a stalk from an SGL Coupe.
This stalk is mint conditon and looks like the owner got it replaced anyway.
$22 catch ya later. I was hoping at least $10 for it.

But it only took 2 mins to install and test if everything works.

So it was the combo switch/stalk in the end?
