I wonder if that's the same S12 that used to compete in the VRC when my old man was rallying back in the early 2000's. If so it's now had a colour and driver change. I used to love hearing that S12 roaring through the forrests on the odd occasion us service crew would get away from service points.

Lee/Lethlean Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX 01:01:21.1
Reynolds/Baker Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V 01:02:48.9 +1:27.8
Friend/Spedding Nissan Silvia RS 01:02:58.3 +1:37.2
Semmens/Parry Nissan 200 SX RV S12 01:03:04.6 +1:43.5
Berry/Berry Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IV 01:03:39.4 +2:18.4

Only one minute 37s slower than an evo IX on a 1hour race on mud... Top effort! Are they members here at all?

The guy in the S12 obviously knows how to drive, but if you put a half descent driver in a turbo four wheel drive in the dirt it would kill an S12. I think this is a testament that rallying in Australia is a dying sport.

I'd say the gazelle is more modified too. Rally will never die, but yeah it doesn't have a great following. Only V8 supertaxi's has a real following from the general public.

I have a few mates that were there. The two S12 drivers do know how to drive and it's amusing watching the huge amounts of WRX owners on youtube just fail at making a relatively simple corner.

Search for Vic Rally 2010 and you'll see for yourself.

They are by no means stock, and have had a ton of $$ spent on them over the years, but they have been being driven for some time, so they are doing VERY well.

Rally will be around for some time yet. And no they are not members here.

The FJ is apparently having a number of chassis strength (or lack there of) issues and keeps breaking...

Although, i have a feeling a few of the shunt's it's recieved, really havent helped.

Hmmm... Surely once they get a taste they will be hooked though! Without aus12 I wouldn't know half of what I know about S12's or have bought either of my cars... It's such a good resource for parts and knowledge for a car that is as rare as a woman who cooks and cleans :P .

There was t.v coverage of the ARC today on channel 10

Both S12's were featured, in particular the white RS hitting a post on the Lardner Park short course

I married one...

As for the guy's i'm not too sure. Too many of them are old school, and like to learn but not give too much away. Gotta stay ahead of the competition.

But I will mention it to them if we cross paths.

Youtube vids I found, 1st one is a slide show of pics of both the white MKI with an FJ and a red MKII with what sounds like a VG, towards the end the MKI looks like it went into a ditch, MKI 4mins, MKII 4.04, busted MKI 6.10.

The second video is a spectator view, the s12 are about half way thru.

I think the VE commy sounded pretty cool

The FJ24-powered one is the ex Michael South car from NSW. It was an absolute work of art.

I'm pretty sure Kevin Ashby still runs a red FJ hatch here in NSW.

im usually naked anywayclothes are for rich ppl
