When we ran Piggie, we used the CA18 sensor, which worked fine with the S12 gauge.
Bare in mind, when you wire up the CA18, the same sensor provides a temperature signal to both the ECU and the gauge. The CA20 is different, and has two separate sensors.

I've got a CA20 sender here, and possibly a CA18 one here too, if you want to try them out when you come down to pick up the other stuff.

HMM, 2 seperate sensors, what i did was hacked the purple wire at the back of the dash and ran it to the SR ECU temp wire on the white plug... Maybe thats why it gets that type of reading?

yes
Yea thats the wire, i was luck enuff too that my Tacho sensor wire still got a signal as well, so i didnt have to root around to get my aftermarket one going.. That works ok, i had a scrounge on the net, people say that the voltages from car to car and guage to guage vary, i think the SR has a higher one maybe than the CA did, hence the higher reading..
