Didnt you know excels are actually tsuchiya's favourite car?
He used to dress one up as a 86 to race in the N2 races, to demonstrate his skill earned through 2 YEARS! of pizza delivery with cups of hot coffee in his crotch.

Is this the 3.8 6 model or a V8. I was doing a search on google once looking for something else and the web dictionary thing came up on these V6 motors, did you know they've been in production in the same basic form, (just with recent edition of electronic fuel injection), since 1962!! F'n GM really rips its customers off, (I'm neither Ford or Holden orientated by the way). And even the current ones are still push rod crap!!
Um it was a GEN3, LS1, V8 any of the above
Yea but that "Pushrod crap" can still power them to do 13sec passes with small mods... that nuthn to be ashamed of really.
being beatn by a 4cyl.. .well thats another story

It's simple accounting, not engineering.
I like jap cars for that reason.
I've been toying with a number of cars on the way to work recently... last week a done up charger, this morning a VR-X Lancer... wasnt much of a challenge, but was impressed how well the WOMAN was driving to keep up in such a toy. Was a manual too, which gained my respect all that more.
The charger was fun, as there was an SS that tried keeping up, but really didnt stand a chance... we both laughted at him at the next set.

Well... they just learnt, if you put a larger volume of fuel in, increase the literage, they dont have to spend any $$ on development.

What done to ur CA to blow off a LS1 like that???
Yea seroiusly these newer 4cyl poket rokets go alrite for what they r. Can take down the old VL P plater in a lancer... now that a laugh
Yeah I know displacement and all, but my meaning is that at the prices people pay you should get something that is 'current' technology, as you are paying current prices.
Oh ok, yea i see your point. Paying $40,000 to $80,000 for a simple peice of technology. When the SR etc has had alot more development done on it, thats why they perform well.
Yes people argue that if V8's (for example the LS1 or 351) had the same technology as the jap engines do they would be incredible. BUT the fact is that they dont, thats why Jap cars are a excellent package with their usually nice diff ratios etc also.

Not a heap, stock boost, 3" exhaust turbo out with a 300x400x75 FMIC. So it spikes to about 1bar, boost controler will be the next investment.
the auto spools up quick with the tiny piping i have and kickdown switch is just short of a clutch drop

Im not doubting that holdens suck, but the old 4.1ltr ford pushrod (XD-EL) is a pretty good motor for what it is. Bolt on a blow-through gas carbie kit, a decent turbo and a decent intercooler and you can easy make 200 at the rears, for bugger all aswell.
Its all at how you look at it... If its NA Vs NA or turbo V turbo... These old pushrods can still haul ass over the jap 4 cylinders.
But im sure beating everyone with a tiny 1.8 or 2.0 litre would still be rewarding.
Edit: Spelling.

Since when was a decent turbo and a decent intercooler "bugger all". If you did the same to 4cyl Jap car it would probably still beat it.Im not doubting that holdens suck, but the old 4.1ltr ford pushrod (XD-EL) is a pretty good motor for what it is. I raced my friend in his 180SX the other day. I kept even with the Hilux that was racing and then my friend started racing and left us for dead. Then I stopped because I was going the speed limit and I am a pussy. I think I might bolt a turbo on my Gaz then when the engine dies changing the engine for a CA18DE and putting the turbo on that.

200rwkw or hp?? Its not EASY to get that power out of them if your talking RWKW.
i have 2 mates that build up the 250 Xflows and have done pretty much anythn you can think to one. They run a Turbo 250 Cortina doing 11's and a NA with NOS also. Ther good considering stock they run a 17.0 1/4mile!
They wernt actaully in the EL either, that was the 4.0lt.
U sed it tho mate, these V8s can haul ass over the jap 4cylinders... they must be good to beat sumtn with half the cylinders and 3X less capacity regarless if it has a turbo on it.
