Up until 1987, they didn't have the Chase in Conrod Straight, so times weren't really comparable.

The Group C Bluebird holds the 'Pre-Chase' touring car lap record around there at 2.14. This was back in 1984, and for two minutes of that lap, they had one of the underbonnet extinguisher jets spraying at the intercooler.

Greg Murphy holds the outright lap record, I believe, at 2.06. This was set in 2005, from memory, and in 1997, the fastest lap around there was a 2.09, set by Mark Skaife in the 05 Commodore.

The quickest Super Tourer around Bathurst was the Volvo S40, laying down a 2.14 in 1998. Not bad for 320 NA horsies. This lap was set by Sweedish driver Rickard Rydell.

I'm not sure what the Winfield/Gibson R32 put down, in '92, but I'd say it would have been a 2.14, also.
